Licensed practical nurses offer direct patient care while being supervised by registered nurses or other healthcare providers. They are entrusted with caring for the sick, injured, disabled, and recovering. Is this a path you’re interested in? We at Evolution Health Academy, a tried-and-true healthcare training academy in Miami Gardens, Florida, are here to lend you a hand!
In our facility, we are not only committed to providing first-rate healthcare training. We also ensure that aspiring professionals are well-informed about the programs we offer. That said, here are the steps to becoming a licensed practical nurse:
- Earn a High School Diploma or GED
Before applying to an LPN program, you must already have your high school diploma.
- Enroll in an Accredited LPN/LVN Training Program
Many community colleges and vocational schools offer LPN programs. You must, however, verify whether the nursing program you’re enrolled in is accredited.
- Apply for Authorization to Test
You will need the Authorization to Test (ATT) before you can take the NCLEX. To obtain this, you must apply to your local board of nursing and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing
- Schedule Your NCLEX-PN Exam
Once authorized for testing, you must register for and schedule your NCLEX test. Although testing sites are available across the country, slots rapidly fill up, hence you should start the scheduling procedure as soon as you can while allocating sufficient time for you to study.
After that, you only have to wait for your results, so you can start working as an LPN. Have more questions about this or about getting an associate degree in nursing? Get in touch with us today!
